The Olderfleet Bar & Lounge began life as “The Olderfleet Hotel” way back in 1878 when it was constructed for sea travellers next to the harbours.
The hotel was later demolished and replaced with a public house, owned at one stage by the influential businessman ‘James Chaine’, whose name is synonymous with the development of Larne harbour as a busy port with cross-channel links to Scotland.
Fast forward nearly 150 years and current owners ( The McNeill Family) have continued to constantly develop the bar since they took ownership over 20 years ago and make it one of the most exciting go-to spots in the town.
Today, we have recently completed a modern refurbishment of our indoor bar & restaurant area and we’re currently continuing to develop upstairs as a stylish new cocktail bar with balcony area.
Our new restaurant specialises in fresh local produce and modern flavours with a nod to the sea. We are delighted to have award-winning Head Chef Pol Shields at the heml, who himself has won multiple awards including “The Best Seafood Chowder in Ireland”.
Our Beer Garden is also one of the largest in Co. Antrim, and it’s the perfect setting for delicious food, cocktails and weekly live entertainment all year round.

The Olderfleet Bar offers weekly entertainment at the weekend for their customer to enjoy. The entertainment includes local bands and acoustic acts.
